On Tuesday, February 25, 2003, HORACE C. OATES "Jon" age 83 of Ocean View, DE, died at the home of his son in Newark, DE. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Bettie Oates; daughter Holly; son Thomas & his wife Carol; three brothers; one sister; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was born in Baltimore, MD. Jon was an accountant, retiring in 1980 from IBM after over 30 years of service. Services will be private.
