Homicide detectives were seeking the identity of a man found shot to death last night on a street in the Belair-Edison community of Northeast Baltimore.

Officers responding to a 911 call reporting gunshots in the 3800 block of Elmora Ave. shortly after 7 p.m. found the man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, lying face up in the snow next to an alley near Chesterfield Avenue.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, with wounds to the torso and a leg. His body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy and possible identification by fingerprints, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Detective Ray Laslett at 410-396-2100.
