Because of an editing error, an article published yesterday in the Howard County edition of The Sun incorrectly attributed Richard S. Bernhardt's position on gun control to Republican delegate candidate Tommie Tarsell.

Bernhardt, one of six candidates seeking approval from Howard County Republicans to succeed Del. Robert L. Flanagan, told the party central committee Monday night that he does not object to trigger locks for gun safety, but opposes other gun control measures.

In another article in yesterday's Howard edition of The Sun, the date of a county Planning Board meeting was incorrect. The board will hear testimony on County Councilman Christopher J. Merdon's proposal to change age-restricted housing regulations at 7 p.m. March 19 in the Ellicott Room of the George Howard Building.

The Sun regrets the errors.
