Ex-county lawyer's pension is upheld

ANNAPOLIS - Anne Arundel County cannot reduce the monthly pension of its former deputy county attorney and legislative liaison, a state appeals court ruled yesterday.

The Court of Special Appeals said the $2,370-a-month pension of David S. Bliden, who retired in 1991, was properly calculated.

Bliden challenged county officials who told him in 1999 that they were reducing his pension because it was based on a faulty interpretation of the pension law.
