The students, mainly business and economics majors, are trained by the Internal Revenue Service and receive college credit for their work. Some also speak a foreign language.
Taxpayers need to make an appointment with a student who screens callers and advises them on what documents to bring.
Tax assistance will be available from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays through April 8, except during the college's spring break, March 14-23. Tax help will be offered in the IBM lab in basement of Lewis Hall.
