A Baltimore District Court judge declined yesterday to reduce the bail of a West Baltimore man accused of killing his 2-month-old daughter, placing her body in a cardboard box and discarding the box in a trash bin behind his home.
Kenneth Lee Jenkins, 20, of the 2500 block of Francis St. is being held without bail at Central Booking and Intake Center on a first-degree murder charge in the death of A'shia Monique Jenkins. Police, who believe A'shia was killed Tuesday, have not found the infant's body.
In declining to reduce the bail, Judge Theodore B. Oshrine noted Jenkins' "deception" to police. Jenkins initially had told police his daughter was abducted by an unlicensed cabdriver, but later confessed to killing her "by accident," according to court documents.
