East Columbia

Stonebrook Lane: 8800 block, Kings Contrivance. Someone entered a home through a bedroom window Feb. 5 and stole a videocassette recorder, television and digital video disc player.

Guilford Road: 9100 block, Kings Contrivance. Someone stole two laptop computers from the office of Bacardi U.S.A. Inc. on Feb. 3 or 4.

West Columbia

Harpers Farm Road: 5700 block, Harper's Choice. Someone stole a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol, ammunition and a digital video disc player from a residence between Feb. 5 and Friday.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Santa Barbara Court: 6600 block, Elkridge. Someone broke into a Sherwin Williams store and stole a cell phone and a safe containing cash Feb. 2 or 3.

Waterloo Road: 6500 block, Elkridge. A man armed with a silver-colored handgun approached the manager of the Food Lion Store as he left the building Sunday. The man ordered the manager into the office and stole cash.

N. Laurel/Savage/Jessup

Scaggsville Road: 12700 block, Scaggsville. A woman's ex-boyfriend broke into her home Feb. 4, took their 22-month-old son and fled in a Ford Explorer. Police said John Eric Doyle was arrested by Montgomery County police a short time later and charged with kidnapping and breaking and entering.

Old Waterloo Road: 6800 block, Jessup. Someone stole a computer, compact discs, video games and a laundry basket from an apartment Thursday or Friday.

Tiger Lilly Path: 9700 block, North Laurel. A digital camera and jewelry were stolen from a home Thursday.
