Breakfast meeting to hear an update on airport activities

The executive director of the Maryland Aviation Administration, Paul Weidefeld, will present an update on airport activities at the "Spirit of Success" breakfast meeting of the BWI Business Partnership.

The meeting will begin at 7:45 a.m. Thursday at the Sheraton International Hotel/BWI Airport. Also speaking will be two representatives of the Baltimore Orioles: Jim Beatie, executive vice president of baseball operations; and Mike Flanagan, vice president of baseball operations.

The BWI Partnership, made up of local employers, tries to attract corporations to the BWI business district and support existing businesses.

Admission is free for members, $25 for nonmembers. Reservations are required.

American Airlines installs self-check-in kiosks at BWI

American Airlines is the latest carrier to install self-check-in kiosks at its ticket counters at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

The airline has set up six kiosks for domestic electronic tickets. Passengers can use the kiosks to check in for flights, select seats, obtain boarding passes, go on stand-by for a flight, request an upgrade and check luggage.
