In celebration of African-American Heritage Month, the Woodlawn Branch Library is holding four programs that highlight African culture.

Along with African-American Genealogy, African-American Heritage Story Time and "Anansegromma," the library presents Baba Jamal Koram, StoryMan, on Saturday.

Koram is a nationally renowned storyteller, spirit drummer, author and educator who speaks about the African-American griot tradition.

With no planned schedule of events, Koram decides what type of program he will put on depending on his audience. However, the program will include folklore, stories, history, music and lots of other cultural information.

This is Koram's first appearance at Woodlawn, a library that is known for its comprehensive African-American nonfiction section.

The event begins at 2 p.m. at 1811 Woodlawn Drive. All ages are welcome, but children up to age 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Call 410-887-1336.
