Jessup man, 23, dies after car hits abutment

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Jessup man was killed after his vehicle drove off Wigley Avenue at a high speed and hit a concrete abutment Saturday evening, police said.

Eric J. Sellner, 23, was driving north on Wigley Avenue at 7 p.m. and lost control of his Honda Civic as he approached Montevideo Road. The car spun into a drainage ditch along the road and overturned before it struck the concrete abutment of a small bridge that spans the ditch. The car overturned once more before stopping just north of the bridge.

Sellner was declared dead at the scene. The impact of the crash was so severe that the engine was forced through the bottom of the car and was found about 50 feet from the vehicle.
