HCC seeks members for leadership academy

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Harford Community College is recruiting members for this year's Harford Leadership Academy.

In its 13th year, the academy is designed to promote the development of leaders in the community and to create a leadership network in Harford County. More than 380 people have completed the program, including leaders of business and industry, education, government and civic organizations.

The Harford Leadership Academy seeks applications from mid- to upper-level managers who have the goal of providing leadership in the community and wish to learn more about Harford County. Enrollment is limited to 36 adults.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 7. To be eligible, applicants must live or work in Harford County, have demonstrated interest in the community and be able to attend all 13 seminars. Businesses, agencies, community organizations or individuals may nominate candidates, or they may apply themselves. A selection committee will review applications.

The academy will begin with a Saturday session on March 8, followed by 12 consecutive Wednesday morning seminars, and will conclude June 4. Most classes are held on the Harford Community College campus. The cost of the academy is $425 per person; scholarships are available based on need.
