THE BALTIMORE SUN

SANDRA D. M. CROSBY of East Windsor, CT died suddenly of a rare heart disease on Tuesday, January 21, at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT. She was 51. She was born in Concord, MA and graduated from South Windsor High School South Windsor, CT. She lived for many years in White Hall, MD, returning to Connecticut in 1998. After raising her family, she returned to school and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2001 with a bachelors degree in horticulture with Babbidge Award honors. She was employed by the Garden Barn, Vernon CT. Sandra enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, sports, the arts, and most of all spending time with her wide circle of family and friends. She was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Connecticut Horticulture Society, and the New England Wildflower Society. Sandra enjoyed summer visits to Assateague Island, MD, the wilds of Wyoming and Prince Edward Island, Canada. She is survived by her husband Stephen, a son Benjamin of Medford, MA, and a daughter Rebecca of Winsted, CT also by her mother Carolyn Myrick of Temple, NH, two brothers Bradford and Bruce, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, many nieces and nephews, her beloved chocolate Labrador Bodorgan and an enormous extended family. A Service will be held at the First Church in Sterling, MA at a later date. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Sterling, MA in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, the New England Wildflower Society or the Connecticut Horticulture Society.
