Orioles to raise prices on some premium seats

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The Orioles will raise individual ticket prices at Camden Yards this season on premium seats in the area between the base lines not affected by season-ticket holders. An announcement is expected next week.

Field box seats will increase from $35 to $45, club level seats from $40 to $45 and terrace box seats from $27 to $32.

"About 99 percent of those seats are sold to season-ticket holders," said Matt Dryer, the Orioles' director of sales. "[When] tickets pop up individually in those areas, we are going to sell them at a higher price.

"We're not a big proponent of the variable pricing, where you charge more for a Yankees game than a Tampa game, which a lot of teams are doing this year. We do believe that we should reward season-ticket holders who are buying 81 games in those seats at a lower price than a person who may walk up the night of the game and wants to sit behind the plate."

Season-ticket holders who buy extra tickets in these areas won't be charged extra.
