Police seek help in search for Harper's Choice woman

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Howard County police were searching last night for a mentally challenged Harper's Choice woman who has been missing for more than a day.

Melanie McKinney, 34, of the 5400 block of El Camino was last seen about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday night as she took the garbage to the curb near her group home.

Police said they have found no indications of foul play and that they think McKinney might have become disoriented and wandered away.

McKinney, who police say has schizophrenia, mild mental retardation and asthma, has not taken her medication since leaving the home.

McKinney is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weights 146 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue parka with fur trim, red sweat pants and red sneakers.

Police ask anyone with information about McKinney to call them at 410-313-2200.
