A Shady Side woman was charged late Saturday with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of her husband, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

Terry Harriett Pierce Eslin, 58, of the 1600 block of Snug Harbor Road is accused of shooting her husband, Richard Paul Eslin, 66, after they argued Friday.

Police officers were sent to the couple's home about noon Friday to investigate a reported shooting and found the husband dead -- shot several times. Police declined to identify the type of gun used.

The wife was at the home and taken into custody for questioning. She was being held yesterday at the county detention center in Annapolis.
