Postal Service mailboxes are back at BWI

U.S. Postal Services mailboxes have returned to BWI for the first time since the anthrax scare in fall 2001. Four mailboxes have been placed on the upper levels of Piers B, C and D and the international pier.

Mail is picked up twice daily, and stamp machines and Federal Express drop-boxes are available.

I-195 lane closures slated as new signs are installed

Late-night and early-morning lane closures on Interstate 195 near BWI will take place every day through the middle of next month as new overhead signs are installed.

Lane closures begin at 9 p.m., but at least one lane of traffic will be kept open. All lanes will become available again at 5 a.m.

Northwest Airlines plans nonstop service to Memphis

Beginning in April, Northwest Airlines will fly nonstop from Baltimore-Washington International Airport to Memphis, Tenn.

Next month, the airline will expand service to Detroit and Minneapolis.
