Polisar at Arbutus' Winter Reading Club

THE BALTIMORE SUN

What's on the agenda when an award-winning children's author and musician visits the Baltimore County library system's only Winter Reading Club?

Well, here's a sneak peek of things to come when Barry Louis Polisar, a four-time Parents Choice Award-winner and the star of the Emmy Award-winning TV show Field Trip, makes an appearance at the Arbutus Branch Library on Wednesday.

The entertainer plans to read his new book, A Little Less Noise, which is a collection of song lyrics arranged as poetry. In addition, he will read Peculiar Zoo, his book about uncommon animals, and his well-known Insect Soup, which features poems all about bugs.

The Arbutus library is the only branch of the Baltimore County Public Library that has a Winter Reading Club, which encourages kids to read during the cold season. Because of that status, a literacy grant was given to the branch by Old Navy, which will sponsor the program.

The one-hour event begins at 7 p.m. at 1581 Sulphur Spring Road. It's open to all ages, but kids up to age 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Call 410-887-1451.
