- Zegzdryn, Elsie A.

On January 14, 2003; ELSIE A. ZEGZDRYN (nee Jefferson); beloved wife of the late Casimir S. Zegzdryn; devoted mother of Joan Gale Hopkins, Dorothy Zegzdryn and the late Martin Zegzdryn. Also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. - Zeleny, Marjorie Ann Pfeiffer

ZELENY, Marjorie Ann Pfeiffer - Marjorie Ann Pfeiffer Zeleny, a research psychologist and geneologist, of complications of breast cancer. She was 78. Born and raised in Baltimore, she at tended Friends School and both Notre Dame Preparatory and Loyola High Schools. She received her M.S. from University of Illinois in 1949, following undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland. Mrs. Zeleny was Chief Psychologist for the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at Ohio State University, and continued to research and publish throughout her lifetime. She married Charles E. Zeleny, a fellow research psychologist, in 1950. The couple lived in Tuscon, AZ, until their move to McLean, VA in 1964. She has been an ardent researcher of family history and is a member of numerous geneological societies in and around the Baltimore/Washington area, including the National Chapter of the D.A.R. and the National Society of the Early Descendants of Quakers. Though she lived in the Washington area and participated in innumerable charity causes, Mrs. Zeleny has equally performed the same duties in the Baltimore area, serving for a term as Regent of the Carter Braxton Chapter of the D.A.R. She suffered great loss at the passing of her dearly beloved husband, Charles Ellingson Zeleny in 1977. Mrs. Zeleny is survived by two children; a daughter, Ann Douglas Zeleny of Boonsboro, MD, and a son, Charles Timberlake Zeleny of Baltimore, MD and two grandchildren, Fredrick Zeleny and Gwyneth Anderson, both of Boonsboro, MD. Services will be held at Wednesday, 11 AM, at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 5200 N. Charles Street, Baltimore. A viewing will take place in the chapel foyer from 10 to 11 AM.
