Red-light-camera amnesty starts today

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Beginning today, nearly 3,000 Howard County residents will have 45 days to pay previously ignored red-light-camera tickets without incurring additional penalties.

The amnesty will end Feb. 28. After that, county officials will file suit against offenders to collect the $75 fee. Offenders will also have to pay court costs and may have their registration renewals withheld.

Checks, made payable to the Howard County Director of Finance, should be sent the Howard County Police Automated Enforcement Division, 3410 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City 21043.
