Gwendolyn A. Curtis, a retired nurse's aide and homemaker, died of undetermined causes Friday at Union Memorial Hospital. The East Baltimore resident was 68.

Born Gwendolyn A. Jackson in Baltimore and raised in Cherry Hill, she was a graduate of Dunbar High School.

Mrs. Curtis worked for 27 years as an aide at Mercy Medical Center until retiring in 1999.

She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends, and was known for her shrimp fried rice and lemon cakes. She also liked gardening, interior decorating and dancing.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at Nutter Funeral Home, 2501 Gwynns Falls Parkway.

Mrs. Curtis is survived by her husband of 48 years, Adam Curtis; three sons, James Curtis, Anthony Curtis and Troy Curtis, and a daughter, Patricia Curtis, all of Baltimore; two brothers, Richard G. Jackson and Donald Jackson, and two sisters, Inez O. Prettyman and Doris Stanley, all of Baltimore; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
