MARLINS: Re-signed C Mike Redmond to one-year contract.

METS: Agreed to one-year, $600,000 contract with free-agent OF Tsuyoshi Shinjo, who had been with Giants. Contract gives Shinjo chance to earn up to $1 million, based on plate appearances.

TIGERS: Traded P Mark Redman and P Jerrod Fuell to Marlins for P Gary Knotts, P Nate Robertson and P Rob Henkel.
