2001 Pinot Express Oregon Pinot Noir ($10). This medium- to light-bodied pinot noir from Benton-Lane Winery isn't complex and certainly isn't a blockbuster red. All it does is provide fresh, pure pinot fruit at an attractive price - and that's no small feat. The color is pale red, and the flavors ripe cherries and raspberries. This is a very versatile wine that will go with anything from salmon to beef, but it probably is best suited to grilled or roasted chicken or pork.
