FREDERICK - City police are investigating the slaying of a 23-year-old man who was found fatally shot Saturday night in the courtyard of a Frederick apartment development.

The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of relatives, police said.

Witnesses reported seeing the victim fighting with two men, who pushed him down before he was shot in the head at the Country Hill apartments on Heather Ridge Drive, police said. He was pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
