The Terps opened their ACC schedule on Sunday by beating Georgia Tech, 84-77, as senior guard Drew Nicholas scored a career-high 29 points, and senior center Ryan Randle added 20 points, six rebounds and a career-high six steals.

A look ahead

Maryland plays host to Wagner tomorrow and Hampton on Wednesday, before resuming its conference schedule against visiting Florida State on Jan. 11.

Worth watching

Maryland at the free-throw line. After averaging just 16 trips to the foul line in five previous games, the Terps have shot 35 free throws in each of their past two games, making a combined 47 of 70 (67.1 percent) over that stretch.
