Western District
Stabbing: Lawrence Staton, 51, was walking in the 1200 block of Winchester St. about 1 a.m. Sunday when he was stabbed in the upper body by an unknown assailant. He was listed in critical condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Rape: Police were seeking a man who attacked a woman in the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Ave. about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, pulled her into an alley and raped her. She was treated at Mercy Medical Center.
Northwestern District
Stolen vehicle: A green 1992 Acura with vanity tags NANNYX4 was stolen in the 3300 block of Oakfield Ave. Sunday. The theft was reported yesterday.
Northern District
Stolen vehicle: A silver 1988 Honda Accord with tags DPJ 310 was stolen Sunday in the 300 block of Homeland Southway.
Southern District
Burglary: A stereo system, electric shaver, 70 compact discs, Christmas presents and a book bag were stolen Sunday from a house in the 1800 block of S. Charles St. The loss was estimated at $1,200.
Southeastern District
Theft from vehicle: Two leather coats, a Bible and a backpack were stolen Sunday from an Acura parked in the 600 block of S. Central Ave.
Southwestern District
Theft: A man entered a house in the 2100 block of Whistler Ave. Sunday and stole a 25-inch television valued at $500. Police said the identity of the thief was known.
Baltimore County
White Marsh Precinct
False report/arrests: Two Rosedale-area men were arrested late Sunday and charged with making a false police report of a shooting. About 8:30 p.m., police responded to Franklin Square Hospital Center where a man was being treated for a gunshot wound to his arm. The patient and a male friend who had driven him to the hospital told police they were leaving a restaurant near White Marsh Mall about 8 p.m. when he was shot by one of two men during a robbery attempt. An investigation showed the men had not been in the restaurant, and that the shooting had occurred at Frankford Avenue and Sinclair Lane in Northeast Baltimore. Charged were Alfred Jones, 21, of the 5100 block of Daybreak Terrace, and Barrington Carrington, 21, of the 6000 block of Framingham Road.
Wilkens Precinct
Burglary: Christmas gifts, a DVD player, a laptop computer and toys -- all valued at nearly $2,200 -- were stolen from a house in the 3000 block of Bero Road between Dec. 21 and Sunday.
North Point Precinct
Burglary: Three televisions, video games and a videocassette recorder -- all valued at nearly $2,000 -- were stolen Sunday from a house in the 3100 block of Cornwall Road.
Towson Precinct
Burglary: A chest of drawers, end table, cedar chest and tools -- all valued at nearly $3,000 -- were stolen from a basement storage locker of an apartment building in the 900 block of Southerly Road between Dec. 21 and Sunday.
