A man was in critical condition last night at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being shot six times about 8:25 p.m. in the 1700 block of Cliftview Ave. in East Baltimore, city police said.

It was the man's 18th birthday, police said. They would not immediately provide his name. Police said the man was shot at least six times - twice in the head and twice in the back, and in the arm and thigh.

Police said they did not have any suspects in custody.
