Boy, 17, fatally injured in single-car accident
DAVIDSONVILLE - A Davidsonville teen-ager was killed Monday night when his car struck a telephone pole and landed in a wooded area, police said.
Carl Luther Jett IV, 17, was driving his Acura west on West Central Avenue near Park Ridge Road in Davidsonville when he lost control on a curve and the car began to spin, Anne Arundel County police said. The car overturned, struck a telephone pole and traveled about 100 feet off the road, police said. Jett was killed instantly, police said.
Jett, a senior at South River High School, lived with his grandparents in Davidsonville. A member of the school's varsity wrestling team for four years, he had hoped to attend college next year on a wrestling scholarship, family members said.
Jett's grandfather Larry Angel recently had bought the car for him.
Police said speed apparently contributed to the crash.

Trial moved for man held in Ocean City killings
SNOW HILL - The trial of a Pennsylvania man accused of killing two Ocean City tourists during Memorial Day weekend has been moved to Montgomery County.
Benjamin Sifrit's public defenders requested the trial be relocated from Worcester County, saying it would be "difficult if not impossible to secure a fair trial" because of "massive" pretrial publicity in the case. Circuit Administrative Judge Daniel M. Long granted the request Friday. A trial date has not been set.
Sifrit, 25, and his wife, Erika Sifrit, 24, of Altoona, are both charged with first-degree murder in the killings of Martha Crutchley, 51, and Joshua Ford, 32, both of Fairfax City, Va.
Last month, a judge agreed to move Erika Sifrit's murder trial to Frederick County, where it is scheduled to begin June 2. She could face a life sentence with the possibility of parole if convicted.

Mayor signs bill limiting occupancy at rentals
SALISBURY - Despite her reservations, Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman has signed an ordinance that limits the number of people who can rent a home together in the city.
"It's better to give it a try," she told a gathering of homeowners and landlords Monday.
The bill was passed by the City Council after months of campaigning by homeowners near Salisbury University. It will limit the number of unrelated people who can rent a single-family house together from four to two. It takes effect citywide next month for new rentals. Existing rentals must switch to the new limit by May 2005.
