Ravens rushing vs. Browns run defense -- EVEN -- Running back Jamal Lewis recorded the 12th 100-yard game of his career, but it was his first in a loss. The Browns, however, stopped Lewis 2 yards short on a third-and-seven in the fourth quarter that set up Cleveland's game-winning drive. Lewis also was supposed to stay in bounds on the play to run more time off the clock.
Ravens passing vs. Browns pass defense -- BROWNS -- In the first half, Ravens quarterback Jeff Blake was 10-for-12 for 81 yards and a touchdown. In the second, he was 6-for-16 for 62 yards and an interception. Outside of tight end Todd Heap (seven receptions), no receiver had more than three catches.
Browns rushing vs. Ravens run defense -- RAVENS -- The Ravens shut down running backs William Green and Jamel White, both of whom averaged 2.8 yards a carry. The Browns never abandoned the run, but none of their backs broke a run longer than 9 yards.
Browns passing vs. Ravens pass defense -- BROWNS -- In the two touchdown drives, Browns quarterback Tim Couch was 11-for-14 for 133 yards. The Ravens, who hadn't given up a big play before that final drive, used a prevent defense and made it too easy for the Browns to drive downfield. Cornerback Chris McAlister's unnecessary roughness penalty moved Cleveland from the Ravens' 27-yard line to the 13.
Special teams -- RAVENS -- The Ravens' coverage teams were solid, making the Browns' average start at the 20-yard line. Ravens kicker Matt Stover converted field goals from 31 and 43 yards. Ravens punter Dave Zastudil placed three of five kicks inside the 20-yard line.
