Chamber elects Burton to head board of directors
Linda R. Burton was unanimously voted chairman-elect of the board of directors of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce at a board meeting Dec. 6. She will succeed Donna Richardson, whose term expires in May.
Burton is the principal in the organizational development and professional coaching firm, DRW Inc. of Ellicott City. She has served on the board of directors of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and she is a member of Network 2000.
Selected to succeed Burton as chairman in 2004 was Paul G. Skalny, a partner with Rapaport & Skalny LLP, a Columbia law firm.
Both are Howard County residents.
Kander named president of medical staff association
Lynn Kander, medical staff coordinator at Howard County General Hospital, has been named president of the Maryland Association Medical Staff Services. A member of the association for more than five years, she will serve a two-year term.
Howard County General Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine since 1998, is a 187-bed, not-for-profit, health care provider with a professional staff of more than 600 physicians.
