Carroll Community College will begin offering "Open Entry, Open Exit" Visual Basic programming courses online next month.
Students will be able to study Visual Basic programming anytime via the World Wide Web at their convenience.
Also next term, Carroll Community College students also will be able to take the online course "Visual Basic Dot Net." Students may finish one or more classes in a semester, or take more time to complete a selected course when necessary.
Students registering for the class will be given a free copy of Visual Studio Dot Net for installation and use on their home computers. All activities necessary to complete the courses will be conducted via the Internet.
Two courses - "Visual Basic Solutions" (CIS-221) and "Mastering Visual Basic" (CIS-229) - will be offered throughout the year. Students and employers interested in these classes should send e-mail to Jerry Schubert at jschubert@carroll cc.edu.
Certain prerequisites or prior experience are required for these upper-level courses. "Visual Basic Solutions" presents VBA macros in Word, Excel and Access. "Mastering Visual Basic" explores the in-depth use of Visual Basic Dot Net, including an introduction to its use with graphics and multimedia.
