Edythe G. Grason, 85, bookkeeper

Edythe G. Grason, a retired bookkeeper, died of leukemia Tuesday at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center & Hospital. She was 85.

A resident of the Mercy Ridge retirement community in Timonium, she had lived in Towson for many years.

Born Edythe Gonce in Baltimore and raised on North Bond Street and in Parkville, she was a 1934 graduate of Towson High School.

In 1941, she married Richard Grason IV, a Baltimore County official who died in 1998.

She was a bookkeeper for the old Towson National Bank, the Baltimore County Highway Department and the College of Notre Dame before retiring in 1979.

She enjoyed knitting, traveling and following the University of Notre Dame's football team.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 200 Ware Ave., Towson, where she was a member.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Grason V and C. Gus Grason II, both of Phoenix; a sister, Dorothy Anderson of Parkville; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
