Missing deliveryman found at BWI after trip to Las Vegas
A Westminster man whose Frito-Lay delivery truck was found abandoned in Pasadena on Saturday night was located at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.
Michael Yeagle, 45, who has a gambling history, returned Wednesday from a trip to Las Vegas, authorities said.
His wife, Donna Yeagle, reported the Uniontown Road resident missing Saturday afternoon, saying she hadn't seen him since about 6:30 a.m. Friday, when he left to drop his stepson off for a before-school day-care arrangement.
Anne Arundel police said Yeagle left the state on his own and that there was no foul play involved.
College OKs increase to $82 per credit hour
Students at Carroll Community College would pay $3 more per credit hour starting next summer, under a tuition increase approved by the school's board of trustees.
The board unanimously approved the increase, which would set tuition at $82 per credit hour, Wednesday night as part of an operating budget request. Expanding programs that come with the school's increased enrollment accompanied by decreased state subsidies prompted the school administration to seek the higher fee, which is to generate $171,000, officials said.
A typical full-time student would pay about $50 more a semester to a total of $1,148 for 14 credit hours. Part-time students -- who make up 55 percent of the student body -- take an average course load of 5.3 credit hours a semester. They will pay about $18 more, or $500 a semester. Tuition for out-of-county students will be $128 per credit hour. The $195-per-credit tuition for out-of-state students will remain unchanged.
The county commissioners must approve the budget request and the tuition increase.
Police seek information in theft of tools from trucks
Tools and equipment valued at almost $6,000 were stolen from three trucks at an Eldersburg electrical contracting company, according to Maryland state police at the Westminster barracks.
The thefts occurred between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 5:45 a.m. yesterday at Underwood Electric Service Inc. in the 1300 block of Lee Lane, where a van and two trucks had windows broken or doors pried open, said Trooper Richard Kalina. More than 140 items belonging to the business and six employees were missing, including cordless power drills, laser levels, a generator and several light stands.
The police asked that anyone with information call the Westminster barracks at 410-386-3000.
