Man who tried to rob dry cleaners sought

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Police were searching for a man who attempted to rob a Finksburg dry cleaning establishment, then made off with money from an employee's purse.

The employee was closing Admiral Cleaners in Finksburg Plaza about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday when a man came to the door, asked for the time and then began to walk away as she made a telephone call, state police in Westminster said. The man returned and demanded money from the register, which had been deposited. Implying that he had a gun, the man then received a small amount of cash from the woman's purse and ran to the rear of the shopping center in the 3000 block of Gamber Road, police said.

Police were seeking a white man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, of slim to medium build, with dark crewcut hair, wearing baggy blue jeans and a puffy white Nautica jacket. Anyone with information is asked to call the Westminster barracks at 410-386-3000.
