Comcast's Wilhide participated in leadership session

Bev Wilhide, regional manager of public affairs at Comcast Cable Communications, was the luncheon speaker at the first session of Leadership Howard County this fall. The morning consisted of an introduction to the program and its participants; the afternoon session focused on Howard County's history.

The organization works to strengthen and improve the community by providing knowledgeable, effective leaders for community organizations.

The 40 community leaders selected for the class of 2003 included representatives from large and small businesses, government, education, human services and professional disciplines.

Leadership Howard County conducted gifts drive

Greg Schuessler and Brian Walter of Leadership Howard County were co-chairs of a campaign to collect gifts and toys for children served by the Salvation Army. They collected more than 100 presents at a recent general membership meeting and delivered them to the charity.
