After a bizarre series of skirmishes with pedestrians on Main Street in Annapolis yesterday morning, a man identified as a Social Services employee ran into the department's building on West Street where, after a brief fight, officers were able to restrain him.
Police arrested Antonio Patrick Solomon, 26, of the 100 block of Eastern Ave. just before 11 a.m.
The man had run into an office and was sitting at a desk with a pair of scissors tucked in his waistband when officers approached him, said Officer Hal Dalton, a police spokesman.
The man assaulted two police officers, Dalton said.
Officers spotted the man after police received several telephone calls about a man violently colliding with people on Main Street. Comparing the attacks to a football move, Dalton said the man knocked into at least three people, pushing one to the ground.
He was taken to the Anne Arundel Medical Center for an evaluation, police said. No charges had been filed.
