Notre Dame Prep junior Zoey Bouchelle, a three-time All-Metro soccer midfielder, was one of only two Marylanders named to the 2002 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas High School Girls All-America Team.
Bouchelle, the Baltimore City/County Player of the Year after leading the Blazers to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference final this fall, ranked among only 13 underclassmen to make the team. She and St. Mary's senior defender Ashly Kennedy, The Sun's All-Metro Player of the Year, were the only two girls selected from Maryland.
Bouchelle and Kennedy will be honored along with 75 other girls at the All-American Luncheon on Jan. 18 in Kansas City, Mo.
