County announces creation of W. Carroll rec council

Carroll County Bureau of Recreation has announced the formation of West Carroll Recreation Council to replace the former New Windsor and Union Bridge area recreation councils.

Programs such as baseball, rugby, softball, lacrosse, dance, basketball, wrestling and soccer - formerly operated independently by the two councils - now will be offered without interruption by West Carroll Recreation Council.

The executive board of West Carroll Recreation Council consists of Jeff Hook, president; Brad Rockwood, vice president; Karen Brown, secretary; Sandy Sullivan, treasurer; Steve Linkins, New Windsor town representative; and Kim Eckard, Union Bridge town representative.

The council will meet at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month at Union Bridge Town Hall, 104 W. Locust St. Meetings are open to the public.
