Pauline "Bunny" Oshrine, a registered nurse who worked for nearly 30 years at Sinai Hospital, died Tuesday of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder at Northwest Hospital Center. She was 69.
The longtime Pikesville resident was born and raised Pauline Bunkin in Birmingham, Ala. After graduation from high school, she studied nursing at the old Sinai Hospital School of Nursing, then on East Monument Street.
After earning her bachelor's degree in 1954, she joined the staff of the hospital. She also worked as a home care nurse in the hospital's Jewish Family & Children's Association program. She retired in 1983.
She met her future husband, Ivan B. Oshrine, a pharmaceutical salesman, while he was recuperating from hernia surgery at Sinai Hospital. The couple married in 1956.
She enjoyed spending time at a second home that the couple maintained on Spain's Costa del Sol. She was a member of Chizuk Amuno Congregation.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Sol Levinson & Bros., 8900 Reisterstown Road.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Oshrine is survived by a son, Michael B. Oshrine of Pikesville; a daughter, Susan B. Seedily of Pikesville; and four grandchildren.
