Annapolis woman injured when car collides with truck

An Annapolis woman was in fair condition yesterday after a weekend accident involving her Pontiac Sunfire and a trash truck.

Police said Tershia M. Coleman, 20, of the 300 block of Forest Beach Road in Annapolis was driving the Sunfire north on Browns Woods Road in Annapolis on Saturday afternoon when the car veered into the southbound lane and struck a trash truck driven by Philip E. Pratt, 48, of the 1300 block of Columbia Beach Road in Shadyside.

Pratt was not injured. Coleman was flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital with a broken hip and hand. She was in fair condition yesterday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

A 3-year-old child in the car also was flown to Johns Hopkins, where he was treated and released Saturday. Another passenger, Nicole N. Brown, 19, of the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court in Glen Burnie was treated and released from Anne Arundel Medical Center.

The Sunfire's occupants told officers the 3-year-old had been properly restrained, police said. The crash was being investigated yesterday.

Police seek connection in 3 restaurant robberies

Anne Arundel County police are looking to see whether three restaurant robberies Friday night are related.

About 7 p.m., the Domino's Pizza on Forest Plaza in Annapolis was robbed by a man wearing a red coat and red sweat pants, police said. He did not show a gun but implied he had one. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money from the register.

About four hours later, the Wendy's on Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights was robbed by a knife-wielding man wearing a green shirt and a rag around his face. He took an undisclosed amount of money from a safe and fled, police said.

Shortly before midnight, Sub King and Pizza in the 100 block of Mountain Road was held up at gunpoint by a person wearing a ski mask, dark clothing and gloves, police said. None of the store employees was injured, and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

Police have found no links among the crimes, said Officer Charles Ravenell, county police spokesman.
