WALDORF - A 14-year-old Fort Washington boy died yesterday in a collision in Charles County, state police reported.

The boy was riding with his family south on Route 5 near Waldorf about 2:20 p.m. when a northbound van crossed the median and slammed into the passenger side of their car, said Tfc. J.K. Swann.

The four other passengers in the car were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries, Swann said. The driver of the van was not injured. The names of those involved were not released last night.

The crash was under investigation last night.
