THE BALTIMORE SUN

First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ellicott City, 3604 Chatham Road, is continuing its 2002-2003 Artist Series with performances by the Raleigh Ringers at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.

The community handbell group from North Carolina, directed by David M. Harris, will perform Christmas favorites using its large collection of handbells.

The nonprofit ensemble, whose repertory ranges from sacred music to rock 'n' roll, was established in 1990.

"In the handbell world, they are very revered," said Tom Leeseberg-Lange, director of music at the church and chairman of the Artist Series. "We've been selling tickets since September."

The afternoon performance is sold out. Tickets for the evening performance can be purchased at the door. Prices are $15 for adults, $13 for groups of six or more people and $5 for youths and children age 17 and younger.
