A week of Christmas activities is planned at St. Paul's United Methodist Church of New Windsor.
A Christmas party and midnight service for church youth will be held tomorrow night at a member's home. The party will start at 6 p.m.
Young people planning to attend should take a $5 gift to exchange and a sleeping bag.
The worship service will be held at the church and led by the Rev. Mary Kay Totty.
The congregation will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday to decorate the sanctuary.
This month, the pastor will give a sermon series on "Advent: Five Sense Worth" during Sunday worship.
The progressive Advent service will be held Sunday, sponsored by Greater Pipe Creek Ministerial Association.
The service will begin at Uniontown United Methodist, proceed to St. Paul's United Methodist, then return to Union Bridge for the conclusion of the service and refreshments.
Advent service participants can gather by 6:45 p.m. at Union Bridge Church of the Brethren to take a bus to the churches or take their cars.
St. Paul's will hold its church Christmas banquet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The United Methodist Women will provide the main dish, rolls and beverages.
Those attending should take a side dish or dessert to share.
The evening will include music, gifts and singing.

Union Bridge firefighters' pancake breakfast Sunday
Union Bridge Fire Company will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at the fire hall.
The breakfast menu will include sausage and sausage gravy, pudding and hominy, home fries, scrambled eggs, baked apples, biscuits, muffins, juice and coffee.
The cost is $5; $2 for children age 6 to 12; and free for younger than age 5.

Santa's New Windsor visits by firetruck start Tuesday
New Windsor Fire & Hose Company No. 1 will take Santa Claus to town neighborhoods starting at 6:30 p.m. on designated days, weather permitting.
Santa will travel by fire engine Tuesday to Glenvue Drive, Overbrook Drive and Smiley Drive.
Atlee Ridge, Hallowell Drive and Uniontown will be visited Dec. 16.
The main town area, Blue Ridge Manor and Springdale Village are to be visited Dec. 19.
Any areas that are missed because of inclement weather will be visited Dec. 23.

Church is taking orders for cookie and fudge sale
Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ is holding its annual Christmas cookie and fudge sale.
Orders are being taken for chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodles and rolled sugar cookies for $2.75 a dozen; and for chocolate or peanut butter fudge for $3 a half-pound or $5 a pound.
Orders should be placed by Tuesday for Dec. 14 pickup or Dec. 17 for Dec. 21 pickup.
Snickerdoodles will be available Dec. 14 only.
All other cookies and fudge will be made both weeks.
Orders can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Dec. 14 or 21 in the church parish hall at 2940 Old Taneytown Road, Tyrone.

Holiday crafts programs, story time set at library
The Taneytown library branch, 10 Grand Drive, will offer:
"Year-round Family Story Time" for all ages (age 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 9:45 a.m. today on "Feathered Friends" and 7 p.m. Wednesday on "Rhyme Time."
"Holiday Crafts," a program for all ages (age 3 and younger with an adult) at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday. Children and adults will learn to create Christmas gifts and ornaments.
