The Glenelg High School Booster Club will sponsor a basket bingo today at the Sykesville Freedom Fire Hall, on Route 32 in Sykesville.
Doors are to open at 6 p.m. and bingo is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for 20 games and include a chance at door prizes. Raffles and other games are also planned. Food, snacks and drinks will be available.
Proceeds will help pay for the school's Drill Team to travel to a national competition in Orlando, Fla., next month.

River Hill High to present 'Winterfest' art exhibit
River Hill High School will present its annual Winterfest art exhibit of student work from Friday through Dec. 16 in the foyer of the school auditorium.

Graduates: Air Force Senior Airman Ammera M. Schmidt, daughter of Mohammed K. and Gwenneth W. El Sawi of Highland, has graduated from Airman Leadership School at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Va. The 1995 graduate of Atholton High School is an imagery mission supervisor with the 30th Intelligence Squadron.

Holiday tours: Howard County Council of Garden Clubs will sponsor a morning and evening tour of Marriottsville's Waverly Mansion, which has been decorated for the holidays. A morning tour will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Monday. The evening tour, which will feature candlelight and seasonal music by Die Liedersanger Madrigal Singers, will be offered from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cider and cookies will be served. Citrus sale: Hopkins United Methodist Men and the Health and Welfare Committee of Hopkins United Methodist Church are holding their holiday citrus fruit sale this month. Navel oranges will be available for $21 a box; $13 for a half-box. Red grapefruit is $18 a box; $12 for a half-box. Tangerines are $20 for a half-box. The deadline for orders is Sunday.
