The Town Center Community Association will hold its 10-week winter session of Parent and Tots Play Group from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Jan. 7, at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road.
A session for children ages 2 and older is to begin Jan. 7; for children ages 6 months to 24 months, Jan. 8; and children 6 months to 4 years, Jan. 9.
The cost is $25 for Columbia Association residents; $27 for nonresidents.
The groups are limited to about 15 children, to facilitate interaction among participants.

Atholton High Boosters selling Christmas trees
The Atholton High School Boosters will sponsor their seventh holiday tree sale to raise money for the school's athletic programs. The sale will be held on the school parking lot, 6520 Freetown Road, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, this week and Dec. 14, 15, 21 and 22.

Deployed: Marine Capt. Linda Philipp, whose husband, Steven, is the son of Keith Philipp of Harper's Choice, has completed Dynamic Response '02, a monthlong operation in Kosovo, while assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Philipp's unit has been moved to the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/ U.S. Fifth Fleet in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea area.
