Jeansonne, Riley J.

RILEY JOSEPH JEANSONNE, loving husband, father and grandfather died on November 14, 2002. He was 76. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and grew up in Cottonport, LA. He was a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for 18 years, coming from Columbia, MD. He was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Naval Officer and a veteran of WWII. He served nine years in the Active Naval Reserve. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. He received his Masters and Ph.D degrees in Pharmacy from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He was retired from the Department of Health, Education and Welfare in Baltimore, MD where he served as a research scientist and liaison officer to pharmaceutical manufacturers and where he received numerous awards and citations. He was selected for Whos Who in Business and Finance in 1979-1980. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Elizabeth Christine Chris Campbell Jeansonne of Fort Pierce, FL; three daughters Elizabeth Blakey of Columbia, MD, Caroline Collins of Naples, FL and Charlotte Volckman of Severn, MD; three sons James Jeansonne of Fort Pierce, FL, John Jeansonne of Ellicott City, MD and William Jeansonne of Bethesda, MD; one brother Ronnie Jeansonne of Cottonport, LA; six grandchildren Miranda Volckman, Brandon Farfaras, Ashley Blakey and Meryl, Claire and Grace Collins; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Jeansonne was preceded in death by his parents Riley and Leonie Jeansonne of Cottonport, LA; three brothers Carl Jeansonne of Alexandria, LA and Christopher and Jack Jeansonne both of Cottonport, LA; one sister Esler Poole of Baton Rouge, LA and one grandson Kyle Collins.
