City police have identified a body found Saturday afternoon in a Northwest Baltimore park as that of a 23-year-old man who disappeared two days earlier from his Baltimore County home.
A jogger discovered William T. Dorsey's body shortly before 2 p.m. off Gwynns Falls Parkway in Hanlon Park, a 100-acre recreation area near Mondawmin Mall, said Officer Nicole Monroe, a city police spokeswoman.
Dorsey had been shot multiple times. A car believed to be Dorsey's was found over the weekend at Westside Shopping Center in Southwest Baltimore.
A relative reported to county police Saturday that Dorsey had disappeared Thanksgiving Day from his home in the first block of Top View Court in Woodlawn, said Officer Shawn Vinson, a county police spokesman. "The relative left, came back home and he was gone," Vinson said.
County police classified the case as a kidnapping, he said.
After Dorsey disappeared, someone called a friend of his, demanding $20,000 for Dorsey's return.
City police are handling the homicide investigation.
County police are investigating his suspected abduction.
