A record by George

Titans' Eddie George broke the franchise's career rushing record against the Giants. George needed 4 yards to surpass the mark of 8,574, set by Earl Campbell from 1978-84, when the team was known as the Houston Oilers.

As good as Berry

Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison tied Raymond Berry's club record for receptions. Harrison has caught 631 passes, the same number as Berry, a Hall of Famer who set the team record from 1955-67.

Sack exchange

Buccaneers' Simeon Rice set an NFL record by getting at least two sacks for the fifth straight game.

Bills coming due

Buffalo's Eric Moulds and Peerless Price each surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving mark. Travis Henry broke 1,000 rushing yards. It marked the first time three players on the same team have done so in the same game.

Leaving his mark

Dolphins' Ricky Williams set a single-season franchise record with 1,284 rushing yards, beating the mark of 1,258 set by Delvin Williams in 1978.

Bearing down

Packers' Brett Favre has thrown a touchdown pass in every game he's played against Chicago.

TONIGHT'S GAME

N.Y. Jets (6-5) at Oakland (7-4)

Time: 9.

TV: Chs. 2, 7.

Line: Raiders by 6.

Key stat: Jets have won four straight by a combined 119-50.

Worth watching: The NFL's newest star quarterback, Chad Pennington of the Jets. As a starter he has thrown 11 TD passes vs. three interceptions and the Jets are 5-2 in those games. Raiders QB Rich Gannon leads NFL with 3,535 yards passing and is second with 22 TD passes.

Outlook: This is a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the league - the Jets have won four straight, the Raiders three straight. Pennington led the Jets to an easy 44-13 victory at San Diego a month ago, but he probably won't make as many big plays as Gannon tonight. - Chicago Tribune
