Mass transit use recommended for patrons of BWI

Airport customers are encouraged to use Baltimore light rail, MARC trains, Amtrak and transit bus services operating between Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Anne Arundel, Howard and Prince George's counties, particularly during the holidays.

Light rail and bus services take travelers to the entrance of BWI's international pier.

The Annapolis Sky Blue bus route leaves the Spa Road transfer point at the city's Department of Public Works every two hours to take travelers to the airport, the BWI rail station and Arundel Mills. The service operates seven days a week, except on major holidays, and the fare is $3 each way.

Information: 410-263-7964.

The Howard Transit Red Express bus travels between BWI and The Mall in Columbia seven days a week, except on major holidays, for $1 each way. Travel time is about an hour.

Information: 800-270-9553.

Commuters to and from the Washington area can travel nonstop to the airport on the BWI Express (B30) Metrobus from the Greenbelt Metro rail station. The express runs between BWI and Greenbelt every 40 minutes for a $2 fare ($1.15 with a rail-to-bus transfer).
