Jean Christine Hill, 83, Harford real estate agent

Jean Christine Hill, a longtime Harford County real estate agent, died Friday of complications from Alzheimer's disease at her home in Chestertown. She was 83.

Jean Wise was born and raised in Philadelphia, where she graduated from that city's Southern High School and married Edward J. Spille in 1936.

Mr. Spille died in 1940. She met James L. Hill several years later while working at the Army arsenal in Philadelphia. The couple married and moved to Maryland when Mr. Hill became comptroller of Edgewood Arsenal.

During a career in real estate sales spanning more than three decades, Mrs. Hill worked for many years for Kings Real Estate in Kingsville until her retirement in 1974.

She was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in Bel Air; the Bel Air Moose Lodge; the Garden Club; and the Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post 36 Ladies Auxiliary in Chestertown. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Chestertown.

Mr. Hill died in 1978. Their son, Robert Hill, died in 1974.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret's, Hickory Avenue and Lee Way in Bel Air.

Mrs. Hill is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Norris of Chestertown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
