Mumpower named chairman of Arc's Chocolate Ball

Gordon M. Mumpower, president of the Columbia-based insurance brokerage Commercial Insurance Managers Inc. and a member of The Arc of Howard County's board of directors, will be chairman of The Arc's signature event, the Chocolate Ball, for the sixth consecutive year.

The annual fund-raiser will be from 7 p.m. to midnight March 16 at the Kossiakoff Center of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in North Laurel.

Last year's Chocolate Ball raised more than $65,000 for The Arc. The money will help support The Arc's vocational, residential and other services for people with developmental disabilities.
